ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Jasmine Joyner had another career day for the No. 17 University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's basketball team.

The sophomore post player scored 26 points and grabbed 20 rebounds to lead the Mocs to a 68-55 win over Furman in the first semifinal Friday at the Southern Conference tournament at the US Cellular Center.

Joyner was hot from the start and had 14 points and 13 rebounds at the half when UTC was ahead 33-19.

UTC's lead grew to as much as 20 points in the second half.

Freshman Keiana Gilbert added 11 points for the Mocs, and junior Red Payne had eight points and three assists for UTC, which forced 15 Paladins turnovers and scored 20 points off those turnovers.

Furman (18-13) was led by Brittany Hodges with 21 points and Whitney Bunn with 18.

UTC (28-3) advances to Sunday's championship game where they will play the winner of Friday's second semifinal between East Tennessee State and Mercer.
