Playing the occasional night game or two to open a football season is nothing new for the Georgia Bulldogs.

Having three straight evening contests out of the gate is a first for the program in more than 50 years.

The SEC Network on Tuesday announced its schedule for the first three weeks of the upcoming season, including the SEC Network Alternate televising Georgia hosting Samford on Sept. 16 at 7:30 p.m. Starting times for Georgia's opener on Sept. 2 against Appalachian State (6:15 p.m. on ESPN) and second game Sept. 9 at Notre Dame (7:30 p.m. on NBC) had been announced previously.

Among the Sept. 9 matchups revealed Tuesday are Indiana State at Tennessee, which will have a 4 p.m. kickoff on the SEC Network, and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga at LSU, which will start at 7:30 on the SEC Network Alternate.

The SEC Network will show three games on Sept. 2, with Missouri State at Missouri at noon, Charleston Southern at Mississippi State at 4 and Georgia Southern at Auburn at 7:30. Six games will be on the SEC Network or the SEC Network Alternate on Sept. 9, and they will total five games on Sept. 16.

About to begin its fourth season, the SEC Network will start its schedule Thursday, Aug. 31, when Arkansas takes on Florida A&M in Little Rock.
