KNOXVILLE - First-year Tennessee football coach Jeremy Pruitt and his staff continue to mine the state of Georgia for talent as their first full recruiting class takes shape.

The Volunteers picked up a verbal commitment Tuesday from edge rusher Roman Harrison of Bainbridge, which is in the southwestern portion of the Peach State. Harrison is considered a three-star prospect by Rivals.com, but he appears to have flown under the radar of most major college programs.

The 6-foot-2, 230-pound prospect picked up scholarship offers from Georgia Tech and Michigan State recently, according to 247Sports.com. He is the 15th commitment of Tennessee's 2019 signing class and the Vols' seventh from Georgia.

Verbal commitments are nonbinding, and prospects in the recruiting class of 2019 won't have their first opportunity to sign until December. In a post on Twitter announcing his commitment, Harrison wrote he will "visit other colleges to make sure this is what I want."

Harrison appears to have the build of an outside linebacker in Tennessee's 3-4 defensive scheme. His high school highlight reel features clips of him rushing the quarterback from a defensive end position.
