Alabama went to a big city in a big state to land a big player.

Nick Saban's Crimson Tide received a nonbinding football commitment Wednesday afternoon from Damieon George, a 6-foot-6, 348-pounder from North Shore High School in Houston. George is a three-star prospect and the nation's No. 35 offensive tackle prospect, according to the 247Sports.com composite rankings.

George picked Alabama over scholarship offers from Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Oklahoma and Texas. He is a North Shore teammate of five-star running back Zachary Evans, who is choosing among Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State and Oklahoma.

Alabama now has 18 commitments for the 2020 recruiting cycle, with its commitment crop ranked second to Clemson by 247Sports.
