Alabama and Georgia Tech, which were Southeastern Conference rivals more than a half-century ago, announced on Wednesday a home-and-home football series for the 2030 and 2031 seasons.

The Crimson Tide and the Yellow Jackets will vie in Atlanta on Aug. 31, 2030, and in Tuscaloosa on Aug. 30, 2031.

"We are excited to announce the addition of another outstanding home-and-home series," Alabama coach Nick Saban said in a release. "Our administration has made it a point over the past several years to continue to improve our schedule, and this is another great example. Georgia Tech and Alabama have a long history of great football games, and we are looking forward to continuing that tradition."

The programs have met 52 times, with the Tide holding a 28-21-3 series edge. They have not faced each other since 1984, when the host Jackets prevailed 16-6.

Alabama, Georgia Tech and Georgia were the only SEC programs to win at least one league championship during the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s, but the Jackets left the SEC after a 7-3 season in 1963.

"The Crimson Tide and Yellow Jackets were regulars on each other's calendars from 1902 to 1984," Alabama athletic director Greg Byrne said. "We look forward to renewing the series between our two programs."

Alabama has added eight home-and-home series to future schedules in recent months, with previous pairings announced with Texas (2022 and 2023), Wisconsin (2024 and 2025), Florida State (2025 and 2026), West Virginia (2026 and 2027), Notre Dame (2028 and 2029), Oklahoma (2032 and 2033) and Virginia Tech (2034 and 2035).

Georgia Tech also announced a home-and-home series against Georgia State, with the Panthers visiting Bobby Dodd Stadium in 2024 before hosting the Jackets in 2026.

Harris staying?

Multiple media outlets have reported Alabama running back Najee Harris will return for his senior season, with 247Sports.com adding Harris is not expected to make any announcement on social media. Harris rushed for 1,224 yards and 5.9 yards per carry this past season.
