After a quiet first half Baylor's offense heated up for a 53-42 win over Dobyns-Bennett in the quarterfinals of the Smoky Mountain Classic in Gatlinburg Monday.
Troy Boynton, Eli Sparkman and Cameron Sparks combined for 26 of Baylor's 35 second-half points, while junior Al Peciulis scored eight of his game-high 15 points in the second quarter when he connected on two 3-pointers and a pair of free throws.
The Red Raiders (4-1) won their fourth straight and were tough defensively against the Indians (8-2), who did not have anyone reach double figures scoring and trailed 38-29 heading to the fourth quarter.
Sparkman finished with 13 points while Boynton scored all 10 after halftime.
Baylor will play Sevier County (7-4) in the semifinals of the Smoky Mountain Classic at 5:30 Tuesday.
