Thursday's recap: Birmingham's Chris Marrero keyed a five-run seventh inning with a two-run double as the Barons claimed a win in the first game of the series. Miguel Sano's solo home run in the top of the fourth provided the Lookouts with their only run. They were led by Byron Buxton and Max Kepler, who had two hits apiece, but their winning streak ended at six games.
Next up: Game two of a five-game series in Birmingham is tonight at 8:05 EDT.
Pitchers: David Hurlbut (1-2, 7.71) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, with Mark Blackmar (0-3, 3.78) scheduled for the Barons.
