Sacrifices help Lookouts win 5-0 against Birmingham

Friday's recap: Chattanooga took advantage of its opportunities, needing just seven hits to generate as many runs and end its losing streak at three games. The Lookouts benefited from six walks by Birmingham pitchers, including three from starter Jordan Stephens, and they also had three sacrifice flies. Lamonte Wade and Jonathan Rodriguez delivered two back to back in the third after Edgar Corcino doubled, and Brian Navarreto had one with the bases loaded in the fourth, when Nick Gordon followed with an RBI single and Rodriguez drew a bases-loaded walk later in the inning to make it 5-0. Birmingham cut into that deficit with a run each in the sixth and seventh, but Chattanooga answered in the eighth when Andy Wilkins' bases-loaded single scored Gordon and Wade.

Next up: Game three of a five-game series in Birmingham is tonight at 7:30 EDT.

Pitchers: Dereck Rodriguez (4-2, 4.18) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, with Jordan Guerrero (7-0, 3.97) scheduled for the Barons.
