Lookouts lose 11-7 to Biscuits, then win 8-1

The Chattanooga Lookouts did more jogging than running around the base paths Monday night at AT&T Field.

During an 8-1 seven-inning win over Montgomery, the Lookouts scored five third-inning runs in five consecutive plate appearances without a hit. Brian Navarreto, Jimmy Kerrigan and Jordan Gore drew bases-loaded walks off Biscuits starting pitcher Genesis Cabrera, who was pulled and replaced by Travis Ott.

Ott then hit Tanner English with a pitch and walked Alex Perez to complete the five-run mound debacle, and English hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning.

Chattanooga's shortened triumph followed the completion of Sunday afternoon's postponed nine-inning contest, which Montgomery won 11-7. The Lookouts used doubles by Perez, English and Luis Arraez in the fourth inning to take a 7-5 lead, but Mac James had a two-run single and Danny De La Calle a two-run double in a five-run seventh inning for the Biscuits.

Jaylin Davis was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Jordan Gore, English and Arraez each had two hits and an RBI for Chattanooga in that game, and Davis was 3-for-4 with another RBI in the Lookouts' win.

The Lookouts, now 7-18 in the Southern League's second half and 43-51 overall, are off today before beginning a five-game series in Mobile on Wednesday.
