Zander Wiel homers in five runs in Lookouts' 9-2 win

Two home runs and five RBIs by Zander Wiel sparked the Chattanooga Lookouts to their fourth win in a row Friday night, 9-2 over the BayBears at Mobile, Alabama.

Chattanooga took a 3-0 lead and responded to Mobile's two-run seventh inning with a six-run eighth featuring three walks, doubles by Mitchell Kranson and Brian Navaretto and Wiel's grand slam. That blast greeted the BayBears' second relief pitcher of the inning.

Wiel also homered in the third, followed immediately by Brent Rooker's 17th of the season for a 2-0 lead. Luis Arraez made it 3-0 with a sacrifice fly scoring Jordan Gore after his single and two wild pitches in the fifth.

Kranson was 2-for-4 with two doubles for Chattanooga, and Navaretto drove in two runs. Sean Poppen (3-5) got the pitching win with 5 1/3 innings of relief.

Jahmai Jones' ground-rule double plated both Mobile runs.

Game four of a five-game set in Mobile is tonight at 8:05 EDT. Dietrich Enns (0-4, 6.00) is scheduled to start on the mound for the Lookouts, with Alex Klonowski (5-2, 4.68) scheduled for the BayBears.
