Wednesday's recap: Pavin Smith's two-run home run to right field in the fifth inning broke a 2-2 tie and catapulted Jackson to the series-opening win. Chattanooga (2-3) took a 1-0 lead on Gavin LaValley's homer to left in the second inning, and a homer to left by Ibandel Isabel in the fourth made it 2-0. The Generals tied the game later in the fourth on Jazz Chisolm's two-run homer to left.
Next up: Game two of a five-game series in Jackson is Thursday night at 7:05 EDT.
Pitchers: Tony Santillan (0-0, 1.80) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, with Emilio Vargas (0-0, 1.80) scheduled for the Generals.
