LOOKOUTS 4, BRAVES 1
Friday's road recap: Chattanooga is doing its best to end a frustrating season on an upswing, and left-hander Packy Naughton and timely hitting were central to that effort as the Lookouts won for the fourth straight game and the fifth time in their past six. Naughton pitched 7 1/3 innings, striking out seven batters and walking one. Mississippi scored a tying run credited against Naughton in the eighth when Riley Unroe's single to left field scored Ray-Patrick Didder, but the Lookouts answered in the top half of the final inning when Stuart Fairchild drew a one-out walk, moved to second base on a throwing error on a pickoff attempt and scored on Gavin LaValley's single to center. Samir Duenez - who provided the game's first run when he grounded into a first-inning double play but Michael O'Neill scored - followed with a single and Tyler Stephenson's double drove in the final two runs. The Lookouts improved to 24-40 in the second half and 60-73 overall this Southern League season; the Braves are 29-38, 62-74.
Next up: Game three of a five-game series in Pearl, Mississippi, is Saturday night at 7:05 EDT.
Pitchers: Johendí Jiminian (4-5, 4.53) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, while the Braves have not announced their starter.
