Chattanooga FC cruises to NPSL Members Cup win on road

The Chattanooga Football Club rolled on the road Saturday night, beating the Michigan Stars FC 4-1.

CFC improved to 3-2-2 in the National Premier Soccer League Members Cup. Chattanooga, which was in the top half of the six-team standings entering Saturday, has three matches remaining in the first-year competition.

After next Saturday's road match against the New York Cosmos in Uniondale, CFC will host Detroit City FC on Oct. 5 and the Milwaukee Torrent on Oct. 26 to complete its NPSL schedule.

Chattanooga also has a series with Stumptown Athletic, visiting Matthews, North Carolina, on Oct. 12 and playing the return match a week later at Finley Stadium.

CFC spread its scoring around Saturday night in Pontiac with goals by Juan Hernandez on an assist by Alun Webb in the 15th minute, by Felipe Oliveira on a rebound of Joao Costa's miss just before halftime, by Max Wilschrey in the 77th minute and by Jose "Zeca" Ferraz near the end of the match.

Michigan scored in the 24th minute.
