Vernon Holstad

Rev. Vernon Floyd Holstad, 74, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2013.He was a member of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Vernon was a minister for 53 years having served in Nova Scotia, Canada, Portersville, Pa., and most recently for 27 years at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church, in Knoxville.He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Myrtle Holstad; siblings, Arlene, Maynard, Leslie, Marvin Holstad.Vernon is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nancy Lipscomb Holstad; son, Scott Cameron Holstad and wife, Gretchen VanOstrand; sisters, Gilma Lenz and husband, Roger, Ethel Nerheim and husband, Noble, Marlene Hansen; brothers, Irwin Holstad and wife, Dixie, Duane Holstad and wife, Sharon; numerous nieces and nephews; and his church family at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church.Following a private interment service at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church Cemetery, family and friends will gather on Friday at 2 p.m. at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church for a memorial service with Dr. John Wood and Rev.
