Brian Cameron

LaFAYETTE Officer Brian Cameron, son of Richard and Shelia Cameron, died suddenly the morning of Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013. Brian was raised in Naomi, Ga., and resided there at the time of passing. Shortly after graduating high school in LaFayette, Ga., Brian began a career in law enforcement as a correctional officer first at Hayes Correctional Institute transferring to Walker Correctional Institute, then finally serving as an officer for Mobile Construction out of Forsyth, Ga. Brian's projects ranged from public library construction to building community pavilions. Brian was a passionate fan of the Florida Gators leaving behind Albert, a white English bulldog, affectionately named for the deep rivalry between the Florida Gators and the Georgia Bulldogs along with his love for dogs. Additionally, Brian came from a large family and is survived by his parents Richard and Shelia Cameron; sister, Sherrie Cameron and Wade Redmond; along with niece, Kristin and RJ Hughes with son Cameron; nephew, Ryan Broome; many uncles, aunts, and cousins also survive. Family and friends alike are heartbroken over the sudden and unexpected loss of Brian who was a brave, honorable, and most well thought after individual by all who knew him. Funeral from the Wallis Memorial Chapel Wednesday Jan. 1, 2014 at 2 p.m. Service conducted by Rev. Tim Rayburn. Interment in the Naomi Cemetery. Pallbearers are David Bradley, Mark White, Steven Owens, Miles Snider, Pat Harris, Tom Everett Honorary pallbearers Michael Penson, Michael Penson Jr., Rodney Wilson, Casey Tudor, Danny Tudor, Officer Murdock, and Derek Henton. Family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6-8 p.m. and all day Tuesday. The arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
