Amy Headrick

KNOXVILLE Amy Grace Davis Headrick passed away when heaven called one of its earthly angels home on Tuesday, July 16, 2013.Grace is the unmerited favor of God. Since Feb. 10, 1928, those that have known Grace Headrick have been blessed by Gods favor. Wife to Harold for 61 years; God blessed them greatly to have each other. Cherished mother of Mimi Headrick and Amy Headrick; she had countless "adopteds," including her special ones, Wade Wilson, Ray Brown, Carolyn Gravitt, Lara Davis, and Jenny and Steve Pullum. She was short in stature, rarely short on a smile or patience. She was fiercely independent, but fought the fight and protected her flock to the end.She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Beulah Davis; baby daughter; brothers, George Davis, Jay Davis, Ridley Davis and Tom Davis.She leaves behind her steel magnolias, Croshia Elder, Bonnie Baisley, Sue Kimbro and Billye Faye Wilson. She also leaves numerous special in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.Family will have visitation at Highland South Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. today with funeral following; Steve Pullum presenting the eulogy and Kevin Felker leading congregational singing.Craig Lindsey will perform the graveside service at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Highland South Memorial Park.Pallbearers will be her nephews, Wade Wilson, Rob Kimbro, Daulton Kimbro, Eddie Davis, Phillip Davis, Jerry Davis, Greg Davis, Larry Davis and Frankie Davis.If you so desire, you can send memorials in lieu of flowers to The Rachel Young Cancer Support Community of East Tennessee (https://www.donationpay.org/cancersupport/).
