Gerri Cash

Sylvia G. "Gerri" Cash, 87, died Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at the Spring City Care Center. Born in Rockwood, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Thomas Verdo and Mary Lucy Trammel Laughlin. Gerri was a graduate of Rockwood High School. She married Wilson Cash on June 10, 1949 and they moved to the Spring City community. Gerri was a payroll supervisor and retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority after many years of service. She was a member of Spring City United Methodist Church, a former Sunday school teacher and was involved in many church activities. Gerri was also a member of the TVA Retirees' Association, the American Legion Auxiliary and the former Spring City Business and Professional Womens Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Wilson Cash; brothers, Thomas Laughlin, Eugene Laughlin and Charles Laughlin. Survivors include her daughters, Judy (Duane) Ezell, of Spring City and Janet (Curtis) Manuel, of Rockwood; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2014, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Wyrick officiating. Interment will follow in Spring City Cemetery, Spring City, Tenn. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
