Zoe Nelson

LaFAYETTE Zoe Lee Gunnels Nelson, 56, passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2014. She was born in Fort Carson, Colo., on June 10, 1957. She was employed with Leaders, was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed camping and fishing. She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Lee Gunnells; sister, Zonda Jean Emmaline; brother, Jeff Gunnels. Survivors include her mother, Thelma Mae Durand Schaefer; five children, Jennifer, Becky, Joey, Antonio and Valerie; three sisters, Zelma Annie Gunnels (Scott) Owen, Patty Gunnels (Walt) Zenzack and Zebra Gunnels Shelly; three brothers, Glenn (Angie) Gunnells, Zachary Dean Schaefer and Zane Schaefer; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Todd Gaddis officiating.
