Delbert Fouts
FLINTSTONE — Delbert Eugene Fouts, 85, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018.
He was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and attended Chattanooga Valley Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Sexton Class. He was a Charter Member of the Chattanooga Valley Lions Club for more than 49 years and was also a Charter Member of the Flintstone Fire Department. He was a Park Ranger at Red Top Mountain State Park for more than a year and was previously employed with Ace Hardware in Flintstone and retired from Walter A. Wood Supply in 1996 after more than 17 years of service. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather that will be truly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Lee and Della Mae Fouts; two brothers, Ottis Lee Fouts and James Elbert Fouts; sister, Ruth Tapp and grandson, Jason Sams.
Survivors include his loving wife of more than 65 years, Mary Katherine Lee Fouts; children and spouses, LeeRoy and Gail Fouts, Deborah Sams, Wilma Willis, Joe and Carol Fouts, Dell Fouts, Kristy Revis; brother and sister-in-law, Orvil and Connie Fouts; five grandchildren, Tim Fouts, Richard Jordan, II, Michael Fouts, Jeffrey Fouts and Matthew Fouts; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Rev. Jeff Brown officiating. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday and from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
