Frank Greenway

Frank Andrew Greenway, 90, passed away peacefully on Aug. 9, 2019, with family by his bedside. He was a beloved and devoted husband, father, and “Paw.“ Frank was born in Atco, Ga., to Lewis Benjamin and Ruth Grace Greenway. He was married to Patsy Browner Greenway for 66 years and lived in the Chattanooga and Fort Oglethorpe area during that time. Frank was a strong man of great faith and character. He was a proud Army veteran and served in Korea. Frank retired from Amoco Oil Company after 33 years of service. He was also a talented carpenter. Mr. Greenway was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lakeview for over 50 years and a member of the Shipley Sunday School Class. Frank loved camping, hunting, wood working and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clyde Greenway and Marvin Greenway; and sisters, Potsy Siniard, Bernice Cox, and Evelyn Cooper. He is survived by his wife; sons, Gary and Guy Greenway; daughter, Paula (Keith) Longley; grandchildren, Hunter and Hayden Longley, Julie (Kris) Kitzke, and Kristina Greenway; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Fred (Lois) Greenway, Carl (Eleanor) Greenway, and Larry (Julia) Greenway; sisters, Juanita (Ovell) Nation, Phyllis (Dale) Collins, and Pam (Johnny) Godfrey; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, Aug. 12, 2019, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2019, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2019, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Patrick Cooper officiating. Interment will follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Lakeview, 10 Hudson Street, Rossville, GA 30741, or the Chattanooga Kidney Foundation, 2300 East 3 rd Street, Suite B, Chattanooga, TN 37404.
