Terrell Key

COOKEVILLE — Terrell Mason Key, 79, passed from this life on Monday, May 6, 2019. He was born Tuesday, June 13, 1939, in Meigs County, Tenn., to the late Warren and Alphenia Underwood Key. Terrell grew up in Ooltewah, Tenn., where he played on the first high school football team at Ooltewah High School. He met his wife Judy while attending Middle Tennessee State College. He retired as Director of Custodial and Ground Services at Tennessee Technological University in 2009 with 25 years of service. Terrell was a faithful member and deacon of Stevens Street Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judy Bell Key, whom he married January 11, 1964 in Chattanooga, Tenn.; sons, Gregg (Laurel) Key,of Lebanon, Tenn., Chris (Gloria) Key, of Elgin, S.C.; daughter, Tammy Key, of Thompson's Station, Tenn.; grandchildren, Holly and Mason Key, of Lebanon; brother, Tom Key, of Ooltewah; and sister, Joanna (Bill) Largen, of Mobile, Ala. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday May 9, at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Pastor Scott Parkison and Pastor Cloyd Bell will officiate. Interment will follow at Phillips Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time.
