Thomas Crabtree

BRIDGEPORT — Thomas Wayne Crabtree, 71, passed away Aug. 1, 2020. He was a member of the Kimball Church of Christ, the Bridgeport Lions Club, the Bridgeport Masonic Lodge, served in the Army National Guard, and held a seat on the Bridgeport City Council.

A retired electrician, he worked for Widows Creek Fossil Plant for more than thirty years. He was completely devoted to his family and worked tirelessly for his community and church.

Mr. Crabtree is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 50 years, Aldonna Payne Crabtree; daughter and son in law, Heather Crabtree Fallecker and Scott Fallecker of Ooltewah, Tennessee; daughter, Holly Crabtree Cooper of Athens, Alabama; granddaughter, Leah Rae Wilson; grandsons, Thomas Heaton Cooper and Jesse Adam Cooper; brother and sister in law, Jesse James (Dickie) and Sherron Gail Crabtree of Bryant, Alabama; sister and brother in law, Loretta and Jerry Carpenter of Hixson, Tennessee, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Izola Crabtree and sister, Billie B. Robinson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Lena Cagle Public Library.

Visitation will be held 1 to 3 p.m. with the memorial service immediately following at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2020, at Valley Funeral Home in Stevenson, Alabama.
