Joan Roberts

Gwendolyn Joan Roberts, 87, of East Ridge, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 17, 2020.

She was a lifelong resident of East Ridge, was a 1950 graduate of Central High School, and was a longtime member of the East Ridge Church of Christ.

Mrs. Roberts retired in 2014 from Keefe Plumbing as a bookkeeper with over 30 years of service. She loved taking care of her husband and family. She was kind, always put others before herself, and saw the good in everyone. She was known for her smile, being an excellent cook, and being the greatest example of what a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend should be. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Leon Roberts, Jr. and brother, Monty

(Bettye) Bilbrey.

Survivors include her daughter, Lisa (Jerry) Parrish; grandson, Samuel Parrish; great-grandchildren, Brileigh and Grayson Parrish; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Buddy and Mackie Parks; several nieces and nephews; and half-brother, Gaither (Shirley) Bilbrey.

The family would like to extend a special thank you for the wonderful care and friendship to Dr. William Oellerich, Denise Headrick, and the staff of Memorial Hospital 6th Floor

North.
