Christopher Dye

RINGGOLD - Christopher “Chris” Jackson Dye age 43, passed away Wednesday - November 4, 2020. He was born in Rome, Georgia and had resided in the Ringgold area for the past five years. He graduated from LaFayette High School – Class of 1996. He was a former officer with Hays State Prison in Summerville, GA. He served his country in the U.S. Army for twelve years and earned the rank of E-5 Sergeant. Chris was currently employed with the Walker County Sheriff’s Department where he recently earned the rank of Corporal. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Peavine Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting any chance he was able. He is preceded in death by his grandmother: Frances Van Pelt. He is survived by his wife: Kelly Jo Lykins Dye, their children: Ashton, Sienna, Alexander, Bryce and Chase Dye all of Ringgold, GA, parents: Richard (Michelle) Dye of Rock Spring, GA, Debbie (Robert) Coffman of Rock Spring, GA, brother: Richie (Diana) Dye of Ringgold, GA, sister: Brooke (Josh) Smith of Chickamauga, GA, father-in-law and mother-in-law: Carl and Karen Lykins of East Ridge, TN, brothers-in-law: Chris Lykins of Chattanooga, TN, Kevin (Ruth) Lykins of Fort Mill, S.C., nieces: Ellie Kate Lykins, Sarah and Anna Dye, nephews: Caden and Mason Smith, Adam, Andrew and Benjamin Lykins. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm and from 12 noon to 2:00 pm - Tuesday prior to the service. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm – Tuesday – November 10, 2020 in the chapel with Pastor Joel Southerland and Chaplain: Tim Owens officiating. Joel Wooten, Brandon Barkley, Eric Head, Preston Thomason, Matthew Jones and Marcus Alford will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens - South, Rossville, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Chris’s childrens scholarship fund at any local Tennessee Valley Credit Union branch and/or tvfcu.com.
