James Melville

ROSSVILLE - James Robert Melville, Sr., 58, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 13, 2020 after a long and hard fight with cancer. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and he loved his family. He has worked since the age of 12 and was the owner of James Melville Company until April 2017. He was a smart man and could figure out anything when he put his mind to it. He was always fair to customers. He always put them first and if they ever needed anything, he would get in the car and go.

He loved to hunt and fly fish. He enjoyed his trip to the Grand Canyon as we sat eating a bologna sandwich in the parking lot while watching the deer walk beside the car. After being disabled he always wanted something to do and needed to be useful, which he always was to his family and friends. James was a great man and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 28 years, Debra Pendergrass Melville; children, James, Jr. (Christy) Melville, Christina (Chris) Kokinos and Melissa (Jason) Ahrent; sister, Debbie Page; brother Frankie Melville; grandchildren, Robert, Tanner and Caleb (Maddison) Melville, Baylee and Riley Kokinos, Trinity and Madison Ahrent; several nieces and nephews.

A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 18, 2020 in the McIntruff Cemetery in Birchwood, TN with Fred Burden officiating.
