Bennie Mack Dendy

Bennie went to live with our Lord on April 13th, 2021. He was surrounded by family and friends.

Born September 16, 1932, to Callie Whitley Dendy in Trion, Georgia, he graduated from LaFayette High School before entering the Army and serving in Korea. After a short stint at DuPont, he worked for over fifty years for The Walter A. Wood Supply Company. He was an avid golfer, coached his children in sports, and enjoyed all things Bulldog from Rossville to the University of Georgia. He was also a founding member and the first Secretary of Battlefield Golf Club.

Bennie married the love of his life and soul mate, Ann Chambers Dendy, in 1956 and they remained happily married for the next 64 years. He is survived by his Wife, his son Michael of Indian Rocks, Fl and Johns Creek, GA and daughter Lisa Dendy Ray (Kim) of Ringgold, GA. He also has grandchildren Matthew, Emily, and Adam Ray and Callie and Carson Dendy.

He was predeceased by his son Jeffrey Mark Dendy of Chattanooga, as well as his brothers Robert, James, Charles (Ted) Dendy and by his beloved nephews Tommy/Bob (Chris) of Weiss Lake, AL, and Jimmy (Kay) Dendy of Lafayette.

He was a proud Christian and American patriot and was a member of the Parkway Baptist Church in Fort Oglethorpe, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations to The Jordan Thomas Foundation’s Jeffrey Dendy fund.

Family will receive friends 4-8 PM, Saturday at Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.

Funeral services will be 2 PM, Sunday in the funeral home chapel.
