Lowell Frazier

Lowell Dennis Frazier, Sr., 83, of Chattanooga, Tenn., passed away Jan. 15, 2021. Lowell was a University of Tennessee School of

Journalism Alumni. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and later retired as a Lieutenant Commander with the Navy. After the Navy, he retired from teaching as a Journalism Professor from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

His wife, Betty Jo Frazier and his parents, Charlie and Inez Frazier, preceded

him in death.

Lowell was survived by his children, Lowell Dennis Frazier, Jr. (Thim), Michael Frazier (Gloria), Karen Potter (Brad), Kevin Frazier; sister, Marlene Fugatt (Jack), brothers, Ronald Frazier (Paulette), Larry Frazier (Shirley), Lonnie Frazier (Judith), Terry Frazier (Susan); grandchildren, Brandon

Utterback, (Heather), Shelia Mock (David) Pamela Frazier, David Frazier, Lynda Boettcher, Angel Bell (Ronnie) and twelve great-grandchildren.

His family requests memorial donations in his memory to Hospice of Chattanooga at www.hospiceofchattanooga.org or the charity of your choice.

Visitation is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021 at

Williamson & Sons Funeral Home, services will follow at 1 P.M. with Dr. Butch Varner officiating. Burial will be 1:30 P.M. Tuesday, January 26,

2021 in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors.
