Jack Steele

SOUTH PITTSBURG — Jack L. Steele, 85, passed away on Jan. 14, 2021, at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, Tenn., after a brief illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Van and Lorene Abbott Steele and his sisters, Jean Norton and Norma Jacobs.

Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Beverly Jacobs Steele; daughters, Debbie (John) Matthews and Amy Steele Pickett; grandchildren, Lynsi (Dan) Hatef, Tres Matthews, Amanda (Nick Sisco) Peoples and Cassidy Pickett; great-grandsons, Levi, Wylder and Valor; sister, Joy (Bill) Denton along with several nieces and nephews.

He was a resident of South Pittsburg, TN. Jack served in the United States Army. He was an Eagle Scout and a boy scout leader for many years. He enjoyed a successful career as a builder, retiring in 1994. Jack was a member of the South Pittsburg Church of God and attended Grace Baptist Church. He loved the Gideon ministry.

A graveside service will be held at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens on Monday, January 18, 2021, at 2 p.m. CT. The service will be officiated by John Matthews.
