Sylvia G. DeShazo

It is with profound sadness that the children of Sylvia G. DeShazo, 87, announce her passing at midnight on March 2, 2021.

A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, she attended GPS and Chattanooga High School and was a graduate of McKenzie Business College.

Sylvia studied at the Cadek Conservatory and was an accomplished pianist and loved all music.

She was an executive secretary for several years and later in life became a hair stylist and enjoyed working with her daughter at The Grande Salon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Tricea Gaither.

Survivors are her son, Steve (Pam) DeShazo; daughter, Teresa (Dennis) Munczenski; grandchildren, Shannon (David) Gimple, Devin (Kelli) Munczenski; great-grandchildren, Caroline, Alex and Murphy.

Due to the Covid-19 restrictions a private family graveside service will be held.
