Andrew Kelsay

Andrew Kelsay, age 64 of Chattanooga, departed this life on Friday, October 15, 2021 at the Hospice of Chattanooga Care Center. Born in East Ridge on June 2, 1957 to the late Virgil and Wilma Kelsay; he was a native and lifelong resident of Hamilton County and a member of Christ Unity Church. He operated Charles and Myrtle’s Coffee House for over 25 years and retired from Hamilton County Schools as a Special Education Teacher after 35 years of service most recently at Wallace A. Smith School. He was an avid guitarist, singer and songwriter and was instrumental in bring numerous folk artists to the area.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Mark and Michael Kelsay.

Survivors include his children, Kristin Belcher, Mak Kelsay, Tarrin Dalzell, Tiffany Brostek, and Ryan Kelsay; grandchildren, Hadlee, Wyatt, Annabelle, Ryver, and Callum; sisters, Alice Harmon, Susan Roberson, Betty Headrick, and Linda Cate; as well as several extended family members, coworkers, and a host of friends.

A Celebration of Life and Home going for Andrew Ernest Kelsay will be held at 3p.m. Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Christ Unity Church located at 105 McBrien Road Chattanooga, TN followed by a potluck reception and music. Muscians are welcome to come and play and fellowship and remember a life well lived.
