Millard Wray Ramsey

Millard Wray Ramsey, MD died peacefully at home on July 11, 2022. He was born in Pontotoc, MS to Millard Munroe Ramsey and Bertha Mae Ramsey. He graduated from Pontotoc High School and the University of Mississippi in Oxford, followed by the University of Mississippi Medical School in Jackson. He then joined the US Air Force and was stationed in Laredo, TX prior to being honorably discharged as a Captain. He completed his medical residency at Erlanger Hospital, followed by a 35-year career in private practice as an OB/GYN. Millard was a member of the Lookout Mountain Golf Club, where golfing with his buddies Allen, David, and Chet was a beloved pastime.

Millard is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Anne Ramsey, and his children and stepchildren: Millard (April) Ramsey, Jr. of Ft. Oglethorpe, Angela (Spencer) Collins of Chattanooga, Gregory (Lea) Wright of St. Louis, Kendall (Robert) Cordina of Charleston, and Campbell McKenzie of Chattanooga, along with 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Millard’s greatest joy was being with his family, who all considered him to be the kindest, most genuine husband, father, “Pop” and “Papa” that anyone could hope for. The family wishes to offer heartfelt thanks to his caregivers, especially Brittiny, Janay, Margie, Sonya, and Yvette. Memorial services will be private, followed by a visitation to be announced at a later date
