Elizabeth Pope, 85, passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012.Elizabeth was a faithful member of New Monumental Baptist Church. She loved working and using her talents in the church for Gods glory. She was a loving and devoted wife.She was preceded in death by her parents, Biddie and Louise Watkins Dennis; son, Kenthearl Pope Jr.; daughter, Mumzell Pope-Dockery; and mother-in-law, Clara White.Survivors include her husband, Kenthearl Pope; sons, Dennis Tillison and Tyrone Pope; brother, Sam Watkins; sisters, Charlene Williams and Gloria Jarrett; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Feb. 4, at New Monumental Baptist Church with Dr. V. J. Caldwell officiating.Interment at 10:30 a.m. Monday at National Cemetery.The body will lie in state after noon today with the family receiving friends from 6 8 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
