Gerald Perry

, Jr.,ROSSVILLE Gerald Zan Perry, Jr., 34, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013. He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas and was a member of Greens Lake Road Church of Christ. He was employed with Convergys Corporation for more than 7 years and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He could brighten up any room by just walking in and loved joking around and making people laugh. He was extremely intelligent and loved building computers and was an avid gamer. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lewis Barbee; grandparents, Howard Zan and Lura Reba Perry and step-grandmother, Johnnie Burns.Survivors include his loving wife, Shana Perry; daughter, Abbigail Perry, both of Rossville, Ga.; parents, Eddie and Lynn Burns, of Dunlap, Tenn.; brothers, Adam Burns, of Graysville, Tenn., and Craig Whittle, of California; sisters, Amanda Shortt, of Chattanooga, Tenn., Samantha Burns of Cleveland, Tenn., and Lynn Murphy, of Rossville, Ga.; nephews, Ethan Chancey, Aaron Butler, Jonah Hood and Zach Shirley; niece, Zoey Butler; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Zeak and Sadie Murphy; grandmother, Dorothy Barbee, of Dunlap, Tenn.; grandfather, Roland Burns, of Hixson, Tenn.; and several other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at Noon Tuesday, Feb. 12, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Minister Reid Perry officiating. Burial will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park. The family will begin receiving friends after 4 p.m. today, all day Monday and prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
