Officers with the Cleveland Police Department responded on Tuesday afternoon to a burglary in progress, as a neighbor called and alerted the property owner that two men were loading items from their house into a black Ford F150 truck.

Officer John Carson arrived at a home on 4615 Mouse Creek Road and found two men under the carport loading the truck, according to Evie West, spokeswoman for the Cleveland Police Department.

The men loading the truck have been identified as Charles Tolan and Ivan Pritchett.

Upon being questioned, Pritchett told officers that he had permission to retrieve items from a house that was located near a gas station with a trampoline in the yard, but he admitted to the officer that he may be at the wrong house, according to a written statement from Carson.

Tolan told officers that he came to the house to help Pritchett get a load of items, and to allow him to borrow his truck. He said that Pritchett had permission from his baby mama's ex-boyfriend to come get all the stuff laying around the house because they were moving, according to Carson.

The owner of the property arrived on scene and said that he did not know either of the men. As the owner searched through the items that had been loaded in the back of the truck he was able to identify that some came from the house and others from a shed in the back, which he told officers had been locked. Officers found the cut lock while processing the scene.

Both Tolan and Pritchett were arrested and taken to the Bradley County Jail.
