Joseph KellerThe search for a missing Cleveland, Tenn., teen in Antonito, Colo., has been suspended by the local sheriff's department.
Joseph Keller, 19, went missing around 4:30 p.m. Thursday July 23, according to a release from the Conejos County Sheriff's Office.
Keller went for a run in a mountainous area west of Antonito, but never came back. Since then, authorities in Colorado have been searching a 30-mile radius with an aircraft, 15 search dogs and approximately 200 people have been on foot, horseback and all-terrain vehicles searching for Keller.
Sheriff Howard Galvez and his office has received several reports of possible sightings, but nothing has panned out.
Although the official search was suspended, an investigation continues, the release said.
"We have exhausted the search resources available to us for the time being and have uncovered no information that would lead us to believe that continuing to search right now is the best use of resources," Galvez said in the release. "If we can uncover new information that warrants resuming the search, we will do so."
The Bradley County Sheriff's Department offered to send a special response team to Colorado, but the offer was declined, according to a release from the Bradley County Sheriff's office.
The Alamosa County, Colo., Sheriff's Department, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation has also been helping in the search.
