Suspect Timothy Pam was arrested during the standoff, according to Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson and Rossville Chief Sidd Adams.

Pam's involvement in the incident began weeks ago, police said. At the time, police tried to arrest Pam weeks ago for driving a car that had been reported stolen. But Pam, who had a gun, got away.

U.S. Marshals were eventually able to locate Pam by pinging his cellphone. That ping led them to a house at Brown Avenue. They staked out the location and observed three people leaving, confirming that Pam was inside.

The SWAT team arrived and called out to Pam. He didn't respond. 45 minutes later, they shot cans of gas through his window, but Pam still didn't come out.

Finally, SWAT officers burst inside, where they located Pam in a closet. He had covered his face with a mattress and bed covers, shielding him from the gas.

Pam is charged with bringing stolen property into Georgia, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and obstruction of justice.

Walker County EMS, Georgia State Patrol, Rossville Police Department and Walker County Sheriff officers were all seen outside a Rossville building at Brown Avenue, which is off McFarland Avenue.
