The Franklin County, Tenn., woman whose son shot and killed an 11-year-old classmate last December has been fined and sentenced to probation and community service.

Jennifer Amacher was charged with reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon because she was present at the Estill Springs, Tenn., home when the fatal shooting occurred.

Amacher, 39 when she was charged in May, pleaded guilty to three counts of misdemeanor reckless endangerment and was sentenced by Circuit Court Judge Justin Angel to perform 300 hours of community service, pay $300 in fines plus court costs and serve three years on supervised probation, Assistant District Attorney Steve Blount said Tuesday.

She originally was charged with five counts of felony reckless endangerment.

On Dec. 11, 2015, five children were at the Amacher home on Honey Lane when the fatal shotgun blast struck Sienna Dusk Owens. No one else was injured.

Sienna was still alive when authorities arrived but later died at Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester.

The boy, now 13, recently was ordered into state custody on the reckless homicide case and was ordered to serve an "indeterminate sentence" in the custody of the state Department of Children's Services, according to the Herald-Chronicle.

The boy will be held at one of the state's Youth Development Centers for treatment and rehabilitation.
