Man accused of killing mom over grades pleads not guilty

An Alabama man accused of beating his mother to death with a baseball bat over his school grades pleaded not guilty to murder charges last week.

Tyler Ryan Blansit, of Mentone, Ala., entered a plea of not guilty by mental disease or defect in the slaying of Sherry Ann Blansit, according to officials in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court Clerk's Office.
