ORIGINAL STORY: North Georgia law enforcement officials are looking for 27-year-old Mitchell Taylor Horton, the driver who allegedly killed a man during a hit-and-run Tuesday morning.

Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson urged Taylor to turn himself in during a press conference this afternoon.

"He can run," Wilson said. "But he can't run forever."

Police say Horton drove south on Marble Top Road when he lost control, drove through a fence and through two driveways before the car hit Horace Cribbs, killing him in his yard. Horton then drove off.

Wilson said the case began to come together this morning, with two 911 calls. The owner of the vehicle, who had lent it to Horton, called Chattanooga police to say the car had not been returned as promised.

A woman in Chickamauga also called 911 to report she found the vehicle covered with tarps in her backyard. The woman knew Taylor.

Based on text messages she gave investigators, police further concluded that Taylor was the driver.

Horton lives in Chattanooga. But Wilson said he used to live in Meigs County, Tenn., and has a lot of contacts in North Georgia.
