One of the suspects in Friday afternoon's vehicle pursuit through East Chattanooga is facing 17 charges, Hamilton County court records show.

Chattanooga police initially reported four people being apprehended, but only three are identified in court records, and two ended up being charged. Tyqurerio Malone, 23, is accused of being the driver of the black Chevrolet Silverado that led police on a lengthy pursuit. J'Darrius Rice, 19, also was charged in connection to the pursuit.

The vehicle was suspected of being involved in a shots-fired call in the 1000 block of Tunnel Boulevard earlier that week.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle in the 800 block of Shallowford Road, but the vehicle kept moving and accelerated north on Gillespie Road, records show.

It made several turns and, eventually, one of the people inside threw a gun out of the window in the 1800 block of Greenwood Road.

An investigator found the gun, which turned out to have been stolen in November 2018.

The pursuit continued through several streets, including Campbell and Glass streets, reaching speeds of more than 70 mph.

Once in East Chattanooga, the truck made several loops, erratically changing lanes before driving through the Bayberry Apartments and then crashing into a fence in the 3200 block of Windsor Street.

Malone then led police on a short foot pursuit before being apprehended in the 2300 block of Milne Street.

Rice and another passenger, who was not charged, were apprehended at the truck, though Rice did not initially come out when police told him to, officers reported.

Investigators then learned the truck had been reported as stolen in Bartow County, Georgia, on April 26.

Rice and Malone were booked into the Hamilton County Jail. Rice was charged with resisting arrest.

Malone was charged with felony reckless endangerment, theft of property over $10,000, failure to yield to emergency vehicle, resisting arrest, felony evading arrest, left of center violation, driving left of center line, failure to yield right-of-way, stop sign violation, speeding, tinted windows violation, leaving scene of accident (parked vehicle), no proof of insurance, registration (misuse of evidences), driving without drivers license/expired license, drivers to exercise due care, and failure to signal turn.

His bond was set at $52,750, according to court records.
