An "ongoing issue" that allegedly began three months ago ended with the shooting death of a 16-year-old on Friday and the arrest of a man in connection to the shooting on Saturday, according to Chattanooga Police.

Sylvester Andres Gamino, 30, of Rossville, Georgia, was arrested Saturday in connection with the shooting death of a teenager in the 3900 block of 7th Avenue in Chattanooga on Friday evening.

"Gamino admitted he was driving the vehicle to the victim's location to confront the victim," the Chattanooga Police affidavit states.

Gamino told police he was the only person in the blue Ford Five Hundred that was seen by both witnesses and security cameras at the scene. Gamino also admitted driving around the victim's house several times before the shooting.

"Even though he maintained he never fired a weapon, Mr. Gamino stated the incident started because of an ongoing issue with the victim which started approximately three months ago," the affidavit states.

Investigators received an anonymous tip that the driver of the vehicle was a man known as "Shadow," an alias Gamino is known by, and that they could find "Shadow" at James Street in Rossville, according to the affidavit.

Video surveillance obtained by investigators showed several shots being fired from the driver's side of the vehicle, according to the affidavit. Investigators determined the victim, Rafael Roblero, "shot back in self defense."

Investigators found Gamino's vehicle had "bullet impact marks on the driver's side," according to the affidavit.

Shortly before 5 p.m. police responded to a call of a person being shot, and found the victim suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to Erlanger hospital by Hamilton County EMS where he later died.

According to Hamilton County Criminal Court Records, Gamino entered a guilty plea in 2013 on two counts of domestic assault, and one count of viable fetus as the victim. He was ordered to serve 11 months and 29 days in jail.

Gamino is currently being held on $500,000 bond at the Silverdale Detention Center for the criminal homicide charges in connection to the Friday shooting. He has been appointed a public defender. Gamino is due to appear before Hamilton County General Sessions Court Judge Gerald Webb on Aug. 23.
