A second suspect has been arrested in connection with the June drive-by shooting that led to a car crash in which a woman was severely injured and later died.

D'Avonte Wofford, 21, was arrested Thursday afternoon, according to a Chattanooga police spokeswoman. No details of the arrest were immediately available. Wofford had been added to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's most wanted list in connection to the Brainerd Road shooting incident.

Wofford was wanted by Chattanooga police and the TBI on charges of first-degree felony murder, vehicular homicide and reckless aggravated assault, according to the listing on the Bureau's site.

Wofford is also facing charges of reckless endangerment, leaving the scene, reckless driving, failure to report (an) accident, failure to render aid and driver (failure) to exercise due care, and should be considered armed and dangerous, according to the TBI.

Wofford is the second suspect identified in connection with the incident. On July 19, Vicent Kennedy, 18, was indicted on felony charges in connection with the incident. (Kennedy is also known as Vincent Kennedy Jr.)

As previously reported by the Chattanooga Times Free Press, Tekeia Clay, 49, who worked at the Bursar's Office of Chattanooga State, was on her way home from a church event when her Honda was impacted by a white pickup truck involved in a shooting through the Brainerd Road tunnel June 28.

Clay was ejected from her vehicle after it impacted the protective pillars in front of the Jay Price Bonding Company offices. She died 11 days later.

Her co-workers at Chattanooga State organized a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses.
