Good Deed: Salvation Army’s annual fall festival provided free flu shots, bikes and more

Last month, the Salvation Army's 614 Corps day shelter hosted a carnival-style fall festival for the Chattanooga community's underserved neighbors.

The festival included pizza and popcorn, yard games, free cosmetology services, health care resource vendors and giveaways, such as bikes, for those experiencing homelessness. Free flu shots were offered to the community's unsheltered. Willie Jackson, a student at Chattanooga State Community College, provided haircuts, shaves and manicures at no cost for the attendees.

Robin Diddle, a volunteer with the Salvation Army, handed out scarves to ensure members of the unsheltered community have an article of warm clothing to help ward off chilly temperatures.
