Good morning, Chattanooga!

Have you seen that "seasons in the South" meme?

It's a funny, but many times accurate, list of alternative names for different periods of weather we would typically see in the region with highlights like "The Pollening" "Fool's Spring" and "Third Winter."

By its estimates, last week's 70-degree highs and cool breezes were dubbed "False Fall." And according to an area weather reporter I saw on Twitter, this week will bring us to "Second Summer" as the temperatures rise back into the 80s with some humidity.

But thankfully, regardless of the temperature, there are plenty of great hikes that are perfect for this time of year. Thank you to everyone who participated in our best area hikes bracket challenge last week and now we have the results.

*drum roll*

According to our readers, the best hike in the area is on top of Signal Mountain from Signal Point to Edwards Point Trail.

Now for some recent stories:

NATURAL BOOST: Bledsoe and Grundy counties in Tennessee will be part of a state initiative to boost tourism in counties that could use an economic boost using state-owned land such as nature parks.

GOOD DEED: The Pilot Club of Chattanooga recently presented several dozen bicycle helmets to a local organization that refurbishes and donates bikes to those in need.
