Victim identified in Arlington Avenue slaying

Chattanooga police have released the name of a man who was shot to death Wednesday on Arlington Avenue.

In a news release, police said Cortez Alford, 41, had been fighting with another man before gunshots rang out.

Alford was dead when first responders arrived.

The release said investigators recovered a weapon at the scene but no arrest has been made.
