With the 2020 election season getting into full swing, U.S. Rep. Chuck Fleischmann, R-Tenn., is reporting he has raised $1.43 million through the second quarter as he seeks re-election to the 3rd District seat.

"Our campaign is pleased with our fundraising totals over the second quarter," Dalton Temple, Fleischmann's campaign spokesman, said in an emailed statement. "Congressman Fleischmann is a leader in Washington, D.C., and he is fighting every day to represent the values of Tennessee's Third District. Our campaign will continue meeting with Tennesseans to discuss the issues most important to them."

The Republican lawmaker from Ooltewah has served five terms. Last year, he faced challenges from Democratic opponent Danielle Mitchell and independent Rick Tyler, but he ultimately won with nearly 64% percent of the vote.

In April, he was joined by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy at a fundraiser in Chattanooga. That same week, he announced he had $1.27 million for the first quarter.
