33 arrested in day-long warrant operation in Chattanooga region

About 40 local law enforcement officers teamed up Wednesday to arrest 33 people in the region with outstanding warrants in a day-long joint operation.

Officers from the Chattanooga Police Department, Red Bank Police Department, Hamilton County Sheriff's Office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation canvassed the region in teams of six to track down people wanted on warrants.

Of the 33 people police arrested, 12 were felons and five were gang members, according to Chattanooga police. Officers served a total of 52 misdemeanor warrants.

Shane Albertson, a wanted member of the Aryan Brotherhood, was also arrested as part of Wednesday's effort, after he successfully fled from a McMinn County Sheriff officer on Sunday.

Albertson was wanted on 34 warrants from various jurisdictions.
