Man suspected in fatal shooting of pregnant 19-year-old mother arrested in Chattanooga

A man suspected in the August homicide of a pregnant 19-year-old mother was arrested Wednesday, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

Jemichael Powell, 27, was found in Chattanooga and taken into custody by Chattanooga police and U.S. Marshals. He had been on the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's Most Wanted list.

Powell has been charged with criminal homicide and unlawful possession of a firearm in connection with the fatal shooting of Quintasia Tate on Aug. 26 in the 7600 block of Standifer Gap Road.

Tate left behind three young children and was four months pregnant with a fourth at the time of her death.

Powell is in custody at the Hamilton County Jail.
