Chattanooga police are investigating a shooting that happened on 15th Avenue Monday night, which led to the death of a 25-year-old man, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.
Shortly after 8 p.m., officers arrived at 4800 15th Ave., to find Donald Troutwine suffering from a gunshot injury.
Emergency services transported Troutwine to a local hospital where he later died from his injury, according to police.
Investigators on the scene had learned of an adult male who entered the residence before the shooting and threatened violence. Once the male left the home, an unknown suspect shot into the residence, striking Troutwine.
The investigation is ongoing, and Chattanooga police ask anyone with information about it to call the homicide tip line at 423-643-5100 or submit a tip through the CPD mobile app. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
