Third suspect arrested in connection to theft of Chattahooligans trailer

A third suspect has been arrested in connection to the theft of a trailer belonging to the Chattahooligans, the well-known supporters group of the Chattanooga Football Club.

The Chattahooligans reported the theft of a trailer filled with tailgate gear, merchandise and gameday supplies worth an estimated $18,000 in early January.

Two suspects, 28-year-old Aaron Chippoletti and 28-year-old Erika D. Mays, were arrested last week. They were both charged with theft over $10,000, evading arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Now, 52-year-old William Johns also faces charges. He was arrested Monday. In addition to theft over $10,000, Johns also is charged with theft and theft over $1,000, as well as altering a serial number.

The theft of the Chattahooligan's trailer included all the group's tailgate gear such as grills and utensils, group merchandise and "every hand-painted banner we've ever created," according to the group's Facebook post.
